Aria Maestosa is an open-source (GPL) midi tracker/editor. It lets you compose, edit, and play midi files with a few clicks in a user-friendly interface offering keyboard, guitar, drum, and controller views.
Aria Maestosa runs on Mac OS X 10.4+ (PPC and Intel), Windows XP+ and Linux (Alsa). It has translations for English, French, German and Italian.

Very easy to use/user friendly. Even if you're not a musician, you can create simple and quick midi melodies immediately, by placing notes on the scales, by dragging your left-click and pulling the length of your notes on each chord and using the delete key on it if any mishaps or rewriting needs to be done. There are separate tabs so you don't overlap your notes/change the instrument with ease, and if you want to edit a midi file already pre-made, it can be imported and edited to your imaginations content, as it displays all the notes for you. Love it, and it's freeware! Thanks.
